Edmonton Black Friday 2026
Most Black Friday lists are written by people who have never waited for a bus on Whyte Avenue when it is minus fifteen. We actually live here. This is an independent monitor of the sales that matter across Edmonton. We track the independent boutiques on 124 Street alongside the heavyweights at West Edmonton Mall. The focus is on real price drops, not fake retail holidays.

Black Friday Edmonton
- When do Edmonton sales actually start?
- Major mall anchors at West Edmonton Mall and Southgate typically follow national chain timing and push deals live Friday morning. Independent shops on Whyte Avenue and 124 Street often hold until Small Business Saturday, or skip the weekend entirely.
- Is the LRT running early on Black Friday?
- Edmonton Transit Service maintains regular weekday service on Black Friday. The Capital Line and Metro Line start around 5:00 AM, but do not expect extended hours just for shopping.
- Where is the worst parking traffic?
- Avoid West Edmonton Mall parkades between noon and 4 PM. The bottleneck at 170 Street and 87 Avenue gridlocks the entire interchange. Park at West Edmonton Mall Transit Centre and walk, or take the LRT to Southgate if you are heading south-side.
- Is it worth driving to Calgary for deals?
- Factor in three hours each way on the QEII, gas, and the fact that Calgary malls run the same national promotions. By the time you account for a full day on the highway, buying local in Edmonton usually breaks even.
- What about Boxing Day?
- Boxing Day in Alberta still matters for clearing winter inventory, but the steepest discounts on current-season electronics and outerwear happen in November. Edmonton retailers front-load the aggressive pricing on Black Friday weekend.
- Are these deals sponsored?
- No. We list sales we independently verify. If a local business pays for premium placement to support this site, they are clearly marked as a sponsor.
Also: online deals, local makers, sponsor.
