124 Street is Edmonton's design and boutique corridor. Running north from Jasper Avenue toward 111 Avenue, the street clusters high-end fashion, interior design showrooms, specialty food shops, and art galleries into a cohesive retail zone. The tenant mix skews upscale — this is where you go for a $300 throw pillow, not a $12 t-shirt.
Black Friday on 124 Street is quieter than the mall frenzy. Boutiques typically offer a rare store-wide discount, often the only markdown of the year. Home decor shops may clear floor models and discontinued lines. The crowd is smaller, the pace is slower, and the parking on side streets is actually manageable before noon.

FAQ
- Is 124 Street worth it for budget shopping?
- No. The average price point is high. A 20% discount on a $400 jacket still requires a significant spend. This corridor rewards people looking for quality, not volume.
- Do the home decor shops discount floor models?
- Often. Showrooms use Black Friday weekend to clear display pieces and discontinued lines at meaningful markdowns.
